Aaron Judge ALL RISE Book Club

The Aaron Judge ALL RISE Foundation is an 501(c)(3) organization established by Yankees Captain Aaron Judge to inspire children and youth to become responsible citizens by engaging them in activities that encourage them to reach unlimited possibilities. One of the initiatives in the program includes motivating children to read throughout the summer.

SUMMER EBT/SUN BUCKS [NEW YORK] LAUNCHES NEW PROGRAM TO IMPROVE FOOD ACCESS FOR KIDS DURING SUMMER BREAK

In summer 2024, New York will launch Summer EBT/SUN Bucks, a new grocery benefits program that provides families $120 for each eligible school-aged child to buy groceries when school is out. Summer is a time when many children lose the free and reduced-price meals they get at school, and when households might need a little extra help putting meals on the table. Most families will get these benefits automatically, but some parents will need to apply.

Kids ages 18 and under can get free, healthy meals this summer at places nearby. No sign up needed—just drop by when meals are served!

Washingtonville Middle School created its 2023-2024 spotlight magazine that highlights the original writing and artwork of its students.

On a beautiful summer evening, students from the Class of 2024 celebrated their graduation from Washingtonville High School during the annual commencement ceremony on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Congratulations to the 365 Wizards who received their diplomas during the ceremony. 

Teachers clap to honor the graduating eighth-graders who are sitting in seats

A perfect summer day brought beautiful weather on the morning of Washingtonville Middle School's moving up ceremony for its eighth-grade class. 

The ceremony began with the Pledge of Allegiance, led by Eva Ridgeway, who is the president of the National Junior Honor Society, followed by opening remarks from Principal Teresa Thompson, who shared her well wishes for the students in their upcoming high school journey.

The Making a Difference Awards recognize the many examples of individual teachers, aides, drivers, safety, and other District staff that are making a difference in the lives of our children throughout our buildings. On June 21, 2024, Superintendent Dr. Larry Washington, Board of Education President Sharon Williams, Vice President Robin White, Secretary William Hewlett Jr, and Trustee Kristie Johnson, delivered the Making a Difference Awards to each of the June recipients.

As the 2023-2024 school year comes to a close, Washingtonville Central School District took a moment at the June 13 BOE meeting to recognize all of the 2023-2024 retirees for their hard work, dedication and commitment to the WCSD community over the years.
