The Making a Difference Award recognizes the many examples of individual teachers, aides, drivers, safety, and other District staff who are making a difference in the lives of our children throughout our buildings. Members of the Washingtonville Board of Education delivered the Making a Difference Award to March recipients.

Senior Sophia Zupancic is extremely devoted to providing outreach for mental health resources through Morgan’s Message and creating unity in her community through her extensive involvement in several honor societies. Her time at Washingtonville High School has been full of lessons and triumphs that she will hold onto dearly.

Washingtonville High School’s GEMS in STEM club recently hosted its first-ever STEM Extravaganza at Washingtonville Middle School – welcoming the soon-to-be high school students for an afternoon of learning, collaboration and connection designed to spark curiosity and confidence in STEM fields!

The Odyssey of the Mind State Finals were held at the New York State Fairgrounds in Saturday, March 21st. Round Hill Elementary’s team won the State Championship title for Division 1, Problem 4: Life’s a Ball and will advance to the World Championship in Iowa in May. Washingtonville High School’s Team A took third place in Division 3, Problem 4: Life’s a Ball.

Washingtonville High School senior Cameron Snyder may specialize in speed, but he knows that progress does not happen overnight.
A sprinter through and through, Cameron has focused on track since his freshman year, persevering through early setbacks to build a lasting legacy as one of Washingtonville’s best sprinters. The journey has been a steady climb driven by consistency, confidence and a commitment to getting better every day.
