Eighth graders in Jennifer Forestire’s art class were showing off their creativity and technology skills during a lesson, where they utilized "Sphero Mini" robots to create abstract pieces.
Under the guidance of Technology Integration Specialist Dana Gropper and Mrs. Forestire, each student took a turn using their Chromebook to control Spheros movements as they added paint to paper, and off Sphero went!
Prior to assignment, students looked at the famous Abstract paintings of artist Jackson Pollock. When it was time to paint, they were paired into groups of three and used their knowledge of color theory to create memorizing works of art.
“You get lost in these paintings as your eye works its way through the layers of paint, movement and color,” said Mrs. Forestire. “All one of a kind, what a great time collaborating and creating together!”
The paintings have been hung up in the hallways at Washingtonville Middle School.
